Outdoor Audio - Coastal Source

At The Audiohouse we are proud of the brands we work with to bring high quality sound to your home. Brands such as McIntosh and Bowers and Wilkins speak for themselves in terms of high quality audio. They are at the pinnacle of hifi indoor audio. When moving to the outdoor space, some problems start to arise when trying to create high quality sound. Lack of walls to reflect sound, ambient noise, and weather are all problems when trying to create a great sounding outdoor sound system. Coastal Source is a company that specializes in outdoor electronics and has recently released a line of outdoor speaker systems that solve these problems.

Weather wreaks havoc on outdoor audio systems, especially in Vero Beach where we have to worry about ocean spray and excessive rainfall. These elements cause wires and connections to fail more than any other point in the system. Coastal Source specializes in outdoor solutions and has patented a connection system that will withstand the test of time. The Coastal Connector System is a marine-grade wiring system that eliminates the needs for cutting, splicing, and waterproofing wires during installation. Most outdoor audio systems use regular copper speaker wires with wire nuts that allow water to seep in. Eventually these wires will degrade causing unexpected speaker outages. The Coastal Connector System uses a twist lock mechanism to create a strong and watertight connection that is IP67 certified.  This will keep your outdoor speaker system going in all types of weather.

Coastal Source has a variety of speakers for a variety of applications. For concert-level sound, Coastal Sources Line Source Bollards are the way to go. The Line Source Bollard handles 1000w on peak power with 12 tweeters, 6 mid-ranges and 1 subwoofer. A pair of these will fill up any large yard with sound. The line-source technology allows for great sound no matter your distance from the speaker.

A pair of Line Source Bollards with an amp retails for $23,995

The 3-Way Bollard is the next step in the Coastal Source Speaker Line. At 400w peak power, these are also very capable speakers. Each Bollard has one tweeter, one mid-range woofer, and one subwoofer. Like the Line Source Bollard, these can be mounted freestanding, partially buried or with hardscape mounts.

On the left is a freestanding 3-way Bollard and partially buried on the right. A pair of 3-Way Bollards with an Amp retails for $9585

Coastal Source also offers a 2-Way Bollard for a more subtle approach to outdoor sound. Don’t let the size fool you. These smaller bollards still produce a great sound with a tweeter and mid-range. We recommend pairing these with a Sonos Amp which makes playing music from your phone as easy as ever with the Sonos Music Player.

A pair of 2-Way Bollards with the Sonos Amp retails for $3980

The Audiohouse is proud and excited to offer these new outdoor speakers for your Vero Beach home. We think they look great and sound even better. If you would like to hear these for yourself, visit our website and schedule a demo at our showroom. We look forward to hearing from you.
