Take Your Favorite Movie Outdoors With An Outdoor TV

Whether it's spending time on our pristine Vero Beach golf courses or reading a book at the beach, we just can't resist the allure of the outdoors. With an outdoor TV, you can maximize your outdoor time with your family enjoying the fresh air.

With the incredible array of content choices available today, it’s hard to deny that video entertainment offers an excellent escape from daily life. Whether your choices are Oscar-winning movies, Netflix series binges, or how-to videos on YouTube, there are many ways to be entertained and even learn something new. Keep reading to learn more about taking your favorite entertainment outside.

Indoor Vs Outdoor TV

A common question we get is “Can I just use my regular TV outdoors?” The short answer is yes, but we would not recommend it for several reasons. First of all, they are not built for the Florida humidity, high heat, or the occasional insect that decided to take up residence within. We have found when you use an indoor tv outside it does not last very long. It is rare for an Indoor TV to last more than 8-12 months outdoors and even less the closer you are to our beautiful beaches or river. Vero's salty sea air always finds its way into televisions designed for the indoors. Over time the sea air will begin to degrade the internal components of your outdoor TV.  Secondly, indoor televisions may not comply with electrical codes as humidity or an errant rain or splashing could cause an electrical hazard. Finally, indoor TV's are not as bright as outdoor TVs, that are specifically designed to deal with changing ambient light.

Sun, Shade Or Both?

Where will you install your outdoor TV? Do you want it on your covered patio to enjoy in the afternoon and evening? Or do you envision catching an early-season football game floating in the pool while soaking in the sun? Either way, you have choices. Some TV models have the screen treatment and brightness to operate in full sun and higher heat tolerance levels. Others are designed for shaded or partially shaded areas, which may be covered. These may not need to be quite as bright nor require the same level of weather resistance.

We carry three brands of Outdoor TVs. Seura, Sunbrite, and Samsung. All make high quality outdoor TV’s for different applications. Seura has stylish options with built in sound bars if you need high quality audio with limited space. Samsung has options for direct or indirect sunlight depending on your situation. Sunbrite is one of the longest running outdoor TV manufacturers and has a variety of options.
