Combining Technology With Design

The most common way technology is integrated throughout a home is retrofitting. Home technologies such as TVs, audio systems, and other electronics are many times thought of when other design elements have been selected. When interior designers work with an integrator, we can use technology to increase functionality while creating more options for design.

TVs

TVs have evolved from an afterthought to the focal point of living spaces. While they can be beautiful when in use, a TV creates a void in design when powered down. We have multiple options to hide or incorporate TVs in interior design.

Our first is a Samsung Frame TV. Ranging in size from 32” to 85” the Frame TV has a bezel with multiple texture options such as white, black, brown, and beige. When not in use, this TV has an art mode. The TV uses a light sensor to automatically adjust the screen's brightness setting so the displayed art remains natural.

If physical art is something that you cannot compromise on, we also have an art screen TV. A custom piece of art is displayed in front of your TV. When it is time to watch TV, a button is pressed and the art is rolled up above the TV.

Lastly is our mirror TV. It appears to be a normal mirror when powered off. When turned on, a beautiful 4k display shines through the back of the mirror.

Design Oriented Speakers

There seems to be a sharp divide between people who want to see their sound system, and those who prefer to leave it unseen. High-fidelity Bowers & Wilkins speakers are sure to catch the attention of anyone in the room. If your design calls for subtlety, we have in-ceiling and in-wall speakers. If subtlety is not even enough, we have invisible speakers. These are installed behind the wall and then finished with the same material as the wall whether it be dry-wall, wall paper, wood veneer, or even venetian plaster. Even the most trained eye will have a hard time spotting these, but the sound is substantial.

Lighting Control

Centralized lighting and smart lighting control from Lutron gives you the ultimate power to light a room how you want. Preset scenes allow for multiple lighting configurations to be programmed into the lighting system. For example, a “Welcome Home” scene could light up the hallway from the garage to the kitchen. A “sunset” scene could turn down the lights and raise the shades in a certain room. The scene names and configurations have incredible possibilities.

Along with TVs, speakers, and lighting, our smart home technologies are able to be incorporated into design elements. The earlier we are involved in the process, the easier it is for us to blend technology with design. The best way to see what we can do for you is to visit our Vero Beach showroom located in Treasure Coast Plaza. Here we have all of the technologies on display at our showroom.
