Ringeisen began working in his fathers downtown record and tape store at
age 14. With access to all the latest 45s, he quickly became one of the coolest
guys at Vero Beach High School. In 1971 Bretts father, Chet,
began to stock turntables, clock radios, AM-FM receivers and other audio components,
and a year later the company was renamed The Audiohouse to signify its new direction.
It wasnt long before records and tapes were phased out, replaced by car
stereos and a higher quality audio equipment line. No one thought of adding TVs
to the mix for another eight years.
In 1976 the company moved into
its current building in the Treasure Coast Plaza as the citys main audio/video
store and the largest home and car audio dealer between Palm Beach and Orlando.
In the nineties there was no such thing as custom installation, but
The Audiohouse offered free installation with all sales and began wiring speakers
in remote locations, soon becoming recognized by clients, architects and builders
as custom installers.
In 1996, Brett changed direction
by dropping car audio and focussing exclusively on custom installation of audio,
video, security and other modern technologies for the home. We are often
involved from the early planning stages well before construction commences,
Brett says, and we are usually the last guys finishing up, walking the homeowners
through their new audio systems.
With large projects involving
whole home audio and the latest systems, The Audiohouse can work on a project
for up to a couple of years. Superb organization and efficient processes are necessary
to produce competent and cost-effective results.
Today, The Audiohouse
has a dedicated sales and design team, project managers, a director of field operations,
system programmers, multiple installation crews, and in-house support staff. Through
three decades of trial and error and adjusting to the needs of our customers,
we have found our niche as custom installers and strive to improve our methods
every single day, Brett says. Its my passion, I feel so fortunate
to be able to do what I do!
